What is canine freestyle?
Canine freestyle is a competitive dog sport in which dog and handler perform a choreographed routine set to music. Freestyle combines obedience, dance and tricks into creative routines. Dogs and their handlers are encouraged to have fun and show off their attitude and teamwork in this exciting and challenging sport.
About the instructor:
Classes will be taught by Jenn McKay, owner of Canine Aspirations, a local dog training and pet care business. Jenn McKay spent her childhood competing in gymnastics and studying dance. In her adult life she has competed in various dog sports and taught others how to train their dogs using clicker training and positive reinforcement. Now Jenn is putting it all together in canine freestyle.
Class prerequisites:
Must have basic obedience skills and be able to work off-leash around other dogs. Dogs must be dog-friendly. Handlers must have experience with clicker training.
